Team Hope 4 Hoots - Melissa Alleyne's 3Day Mission

We hold our heads high, standing tall but not standing still. Smiling though faced with obstacles. Independent, yet deriving strength from togetherness. We would walk forever to overcome breast cancer, though the point of our journey is to shorten the road. Our song is filled with the weight of urgency, yet lifted by the lightness of joy. In the garden of our souls, commitment is tended by optimism. Surprise us in the quiet of our thoughts and you would find us thinking about victory, even when no victory is in sight. Because we are always looking ahead, to a place of health and long life. To the time we all dream of, when we can cease our walking and begin to dance.

Approximately 40,000 women and 400 men in America died from breast cancer in 2001. Currently there are over one million women in America who have breast cancer and don’t even know it. I am walking 60 miles in 3 Days. Again. Contrary to belief I have not lost my mind, but rather gained hope. My experiences at the LA 3Day last October gave me hope and reminded me that one person can make a difference. A teacher of mine used to say "If everyone did it, would it work?" I don't think a better example could be found than this. The answer in this case is a resounding YES! I am giving my all training, fundraising and walking the 60 miles during the event. Will you join me and give all that you can? I have agreed to raise $2,000 dollars by November, but hope to raise more. Every pledge counts! Big or small! If we all gave what we could, could we find a cure? We could. We will. Please join me.

Thank you all for your love and support!
